Hospital inpatient and surgical daycare episodes include demographic, administrative and clinical data that is collected in the Canadian Institute for Health Information’s national Discharge Abstract Database, and adheres to ICD-10-CA/CCI coding. PDAD captures hospitalizations of NL residents in the province; please see the OOPDAD for hospitalizations of NL residents in other provinces.

Clinical Database Management System (CDMS) – historical
The CDMS contains demographic, clinical and administrative data related to all acute care (inpatient) hospitalizations and surgical daycare procedures occurring at acute care facilities in NL. It is based on data that was collected in the Canadian Institute for Health Information’s national Discharge Abstract Database, and adheres to ICD-9 coding. (Replaced by PDAD).
